Highmark Caring Place resources help children and
families who are grieving during the holidays
The Highmark Caring Place, A Center for Grieving Children, Adolescents and Their
Families, is available for those who need support. In addition to having a variety
of print and online resources available to help children grieve, four Caring
Place facilities offer peer support groups and referral services.

"Children's Grief Awareness Day" encourages
Pennsylvanians to wear blue on Thursday, Nov. 19
The state Senate has proclaimed Thursday, Nov. 19 as "Children's Grief Awareness
Day" in Pennsylvania, and communities will show solidarity by wearing blue
to commemorate the day. This second annual event, organized by the Highmark Caring
Place, A Center for Grieving Children, Adolescents and Their Families, will focus
attention on the impact death has on children and what people can do to help
a grieving child.

Highmark Caring Place to honor North Hills volunteers
The Highmark Caring Place will recognize 66 volunteers from its Warrendale facility
on Wednesday, July 8 at a reception at The Camelot banquet hall in Wexford. These
individuals have collectively volunteered more than 2,400 hours in support of
grieving children, adolescents and their families at the Caring Place facility
in Warrendale.

Highmark Caring Place to honor Pittsburgh volunteers
The Highmark Caring Place will recognize 178 volunteers on Monday, June 29 at
a reception in Penn Avenue Place. These individuals have collectively volunteered
more than 4,583 hours in support of grieving children, adolescents and their
families at the Caring Place facility in Pittsburgh.

The Highmark Caring Place will recognize 121 volunteers on Thursday, June 25
at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center. These individuals have collectively
volunteered more than 6,300 hours in support of grieving children, adolescents
and their families at the Caring Place facility in Erie.
