ClearChannel Radio Stations in Harrisburg area promote Highmark Caring Place and Children's Grief Awareness Day
ClearChannel radio stations in the Harrisburg market featured Caring Place Director Terese Vorsheck in an interview about the Highmark Caring Place and Children's Grief Awareness Day, 2010. The "Insight" talk show interview hosted by Sylvia Maus aired on several ClearChannel stations Nov. 14, 2010, including: BOB- 94.9; KISS- 99.3; The RIVER- 97.3; WKBO-1230; The TICKET-1460; WLAN-1390; and WLAN-96.9.

Christmas is coming to Metro Bank Park
Santa Claus is coming to town and this year he isn't skipping Metro Bank Park. The Harrisburg Senators are working with Santa Claus, the US Marines, and twelve local charitable organizations, including the Highmark Caring Place, to bring holiday cheer to the Harrisburg area. Thursday is Children's Grief Awareness Day
Thursday, November 18 is Children's Grief Awareness Day. Everyone is asked to wear blue to show support for children who are mourning the loss of a loved one; kids like 15-year-old Shelby Shenk, who lives with her grandparents in Boiling Springs and misses her mom everyday. From WHTM in Harrisburg.

Federal Women's Program chooses Caring Place as featured charity
Each August, the Federal Women's Program (FWP), a committee of women who work in the federal government, hosts its Woman of the Year luncheon, where members choose a charity to sponsor. This year, the organization chose to sponsor the Caring Place.

Highmark Caring Place helps those dealing with grief during the holidays
This year, thanks to the Highmark Caring Place; Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind the Sesame Street television series on PBS; and WQED Multimedia in Pittsburgh, more than 500 schools in Pennsylvania are receiving a special resource kit, When Families Grieve. This tool provides resources which can be used to help support children trying to cope with a death.

Highmark Caring Place celebrates one-year anniversary by recognizing its volunteers
The Highmark Caring Place will recognize 111 volunteers from its Warrendale facility on Wednesday, July 7 at a reception at the Chadwick banquet hall in Wexford beginning at 7 p.m. These individuals have collectively volunteered more than 7,453 hours an average of nearly 67 hours each during the past year in support of grieving children, adolescents and their families at the Caring Place facility in Warrendale.

at a reception in their honor beginning at 7 p.m. at the Radisson Penn Harris
Convention Center, Camp Hill. These individuals have collectively volunteered
more than 6,981 hours an average of nearly 41 hours each during the past
year in support of grieving children, adolescents and their families at the
Caring Place facility in Lemoyne, Cumberland County.

in their honor beginning at 7 p.m. at the Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center.
These individuals have collectively volunteered more than 8,200 hours an average
of 58 hours each during the past year, and nearly double the hours volunteered
last year in support of grieving children, adolescents and their families at
the Caring Place facility in Erie.
