Andrea Lurier, PhD is a licensed psychologist. Starting as the program manager of Highmark Caring Place Pittsburgh in 1998, she now serves as clinical services director for the organization as a whole. She has presented on a range of topics related to children's grief, child development and support group models for grieving children and families to a range of local and national conferences including ADEC, PPA, and ACFDA. Her dissertation focused on understanding the mourning process of inner-city families who experienced traumatic deaths. She brings over 25 years of experience in child assessment, research, and clinical and peer support interventions for children and families to her work and is certified by the Association of Death Education and Counseling. She is a devoted aunt and godmother and loves her family, books, gardens, and wit and is grateful for all she has learned from the children and families she has served over the years.
