Critters
Suggested Group(s): Young/Middle/Teen
Purpose: To engage young children in making a 'critter' and sharing information about it.
Task/need: Group Building
Activity Setup Ideas:
- Ask group members to make a critter out of model magic. The critter can be a real creature or something imaginary.
Materials:
- Model Magic
- Markers
- Beads, eyes or other embellishments
Description: Group Members are given model magic to make a critter. They can use beads, eyes, jewels or other embellishments to create their creature. When everyone is done, each is given the opportunity to share this information about his/her critter:
- What is your critter’s name?
- Where does your critter live?
- What characteristic(s) does your critter have?
- What does your critter eat?
- What does your critter like to do for fun?
- In what way is your critter like you?
- Has your critter ever had someone in its family die?
Activity Wrap Up Ideas:
- Invite group members to share their critters and the answers to the 'critter questions.'
- Thank the group for sharing
