Materials:
- Paper
- White tissue paper
- Markers or sharpies
- Tape
- White pillar candle
- Wax paper
- Embossing craft gun
Description: Tape a piece of tissue paper, about the size of the candle, to a piece of copy paper to prevent bleeding.
Have group members design their tissue paper in honor of their loved one. Remove the tissue paper from copy paper and cut out the design and place it on your candle.(Cut away any excess tissue paper). Take a piece of wax paper, a little larger than your candle and wrap it tightly around the candle. Volunteers will then use the embossing gun to heat the wax paper about 30-40 seconds over the picture. Once you have heated the entire design, carefully peel back the wax paper. If the design is not adhered, repeat the heating process.
Activity Wrap Up Ideas: Talk to group members about lighting their candle in honor of their loved ones during special occasions, holidays or whenever they want to honor them.
