The Highmark Caring Place encourages community to wear blue on Nov. 19 and voice support for grieving children on social media

Children's Grief Awareness Day, created in 2008 by the Highmark Caring Place, A Center for Grieving Children, Adolescents and Their Families, is an annual observance held to help people become more aware of the needs of grieving children. This year, Children's Grief Awareness Day falls on Nov. 19.

Thousands of luminaries to shine light on children's grief during Highmark Caring Place event at Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion

Thousands of luminaries, decorated with messages of remembrance and encouragement for those who have lost a loved one, will light the path to a large butterfly formation in a special event Nov. 18 at Allegheny Health Network's Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion.

Highmark Caring Place and Sweetwater Center for the Arts partner to exhibit children's art created to help grieve the loss of a loved one

For the first time ever, art created by grieving children through programs at the Highmark Caring Place, A Center for Grieving Children, Adolescents and Their Families, will be publicly exhibited, thanks to a partnership with Sweetwater Center for the Arts in Sewickley, Pa.
